2018 ISS Award for Compelling Results granted for experiments in JEM 'Kibo' – International Space Station (ISS) R&D 2018

Professor Takahashi was presented an award at the 2018 ISS Conference in San Fransisco, USA, for 'Compelling Results in Biology and Medicine：Transcriptome analysis of gravitational effects on muscles of mice'. The work was associated with mouse research and breeding experiments conducted aboard JAXA's Kibo laboratory aboard the International Space Station (ISS)

医学医療系の高橋智教授とJAXA Mouse Epigeneticsチームは，世界で初めて宇宙で1Gコントロールを含めたマウスの飼育を行い，また，日米の研究者間でサンプルシェアにより，生物学/生理学の発展に大きく寄与するデータを取得したことが評価され，ISS R&D Conference において2018 ISS Award for Compelling Resultsを受賞しました。

ISS Research Awardsについて ------- イノベーションの創出や顕著な成果等，国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）で素晴らしい成果を上げた研究を選定し，表彰するものです。米国のAAS（American Astronautical Society）が，NASAやCASIS（The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space：米国のNPO法人）や各国際パートナーからノミネートされた候補より選び，毎年米国で開催されるISS R&D Conference（NASA，AAS，CASISが主催するISSの様々な活動を紹介するイベント）の中で表彰しているものです。2018年は，高橋教授らを含む計7件が選ばれました。
